How to set up two-factor authentication (2FA) on DSM 7
最后更新 4 年前
Two-factor authentication (2FA) provides enhanced security for your user account and is highly recommended.
To enable two-factor authentication, you will first need to download an app to your smartphone. We recommend Authy, but other authenticator apps, like Google Authenticator, Synology Secure Sign-In or Microsoft Authenticator will also work.
Once your preferred app is installed, follow these instructions to enable 2FA for your Synology NAS account:
1. Sign in to the DSM Web Interface with your username and password.
2. Click the "Options" button on the top-right bar 3. Click "Personal" 4. In the dialog box that opens, scroll down to the bottom, at the "Sign-in Method" heading, then click "2-Factor Authentication" 5. In the pop-up box, click "Verification code (OTP)". Note that other options are available, but these aren't covered by the guide. Please open a ticket if you would like assistance with setting up another authentication method. 6. You will be asked to verify your current password. Please enter it in the box and click "OK".
7. Click "Next" 8. Click "Next" to skip installation of the Synology Secure Sign-in app on your smartphone. Note: If you have not already installed one of the authenticator apps mentioned at the beginning of this tutorial, you can scan the QR code now to download the Synology app. 9. Open your authenticator app on your smartphone and choose the option to add a new account. Scan the QR code displayed on the Synology setup screen using your phone. If you have a problem scanning the code, you can click the "Can't scan it?" link to get a "secret key" that can be manually typed into your app. 10. Once the account has been added to your authenticator app, type in the code generated by the app in the box, then click "Next". 11. On the next screen, verify that the email address is correct and update it if needed. If you lose your phone or authenticator app, you can get a backup code sent to your email. Click "Next". 12. Verify that the next screen reports that "2-factor authentication has been turned on". Click "Done". 13. Click "Save" to exit the settings window.
Congratulations! You're finished setting up 2FA and you have enhanced your account's security!
