This explains how to share your Mac's Internet connection with an iPhone using a cable.

Before starting, you can turn off WiFi and enable Airplane Mode on your iPhone to disable wireless network connections to the iPhone. This will ensure that the iPhone only uses the Internet connection shared from your Mac and does not use its own WiFi or data connection.

1. Plug your iPhone into your Mac using a USB cable. 

2. A prompt may appear on the iPhone, asking if you trust the computer you plugged it into. Tap "Trust".

3. On your Mac, open System Preferences/System Settings.

4. In the search box, type "Sharing", then click the first result in the list:

5. In the Sharing menu, click the i icon next to "Internet Sharing":

6. In the new menu that opens, there will be two options you need to select:

• In the "Share your connection from" menu, choose the source connection that your Mac uses to connect to the Internet. This could be Wi-Fi, an Ethernet adapter, etc.
• In the "To devices using" section, enable all "iPhone USB" options. There may be more than one "iPhone USB" listed, you should enable all of them.

7. Click Done to close the dialog box and save your settings.

8. In the list of sharing options, click the switch beside Internet Sharing to enable the connection and start sharing your Mac's Internet with the iPhone. You may see a confirmation box, click "Turn On" in that box.

9. If the switch turned blue, Internet Sharing was successfully enabled:

NOTE: After turning on Internet Sharing, it may take a minute or two for the iPhone to detect and start using the Internet connection.
