File Versioning is a feature built into Synology NAS devices that allows a user to recover older versions of files when needed. For example, if a document is edited and you'd like to revert back to a previous version before the edit was made, File Versioning makes this simple and convenient.
Reverting to an older file version from Synology DSM
1. Open the File Station app and locate the file you would like to revert. 2. Right click the file or folder and click "View History" 3. Select a date from the list of options and click "View" 4. You will now see all the files in the chosen folder at the selected date. 5. Right click on the folder: you can either download the older file version to your computer, or copy the old version and paste it to any folder on your NAS using File Station.
